Biography

Cheuk-Kwan Sun received his M.D. degree from Kaohsiung Medical University (Taiwan) in 1991 and his Ph.D. degree in Physiology at University of Otago (New Zealand) in 2004. He finished his post-doctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (USA) and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (USA) in 2004 and 2005, respectively, before taking a faculty position as Research Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (USA) in 2005. He is currently an Attending Physician in the Department of Emergency Medicine at E-Da Hospital, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. His major research interests are hepatobiliary and alimentary tract surgeries, endocrine and breast surgeries, cardiovascular and circulatory physiology, translational research in medicine, stem cell medicine, and quality improvement in patient care.
