My research areas include Neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease and designing polymer based Biomaterials (Design of hydrogels etc.). I did Alzheimer’s disease research and developed an aluminium induced neurotoxicity rabbit model. My present research focuses on development of hydrogels of polyion complex. They play a pivotal role in encapsulation and release of multifarious drugs, biomolecules and fluorescent dyes which have wide array of applications in theranostics. Further, my research area also includes development of metal chelators to overcome metal induced toxicity. With a view to developing effective armamentarium for the multifactorial diseases, a substantial impetus from multiple fields of science is of considerable importance.
